Conducting workshops for the underprivileged women has been a very thrilling experience for me. The one workshop I enjoyed very much conducting was the Name Art workshop. The baijis, as we call them, were intrigued by the tasks and looked rather eager and excited. They were so humble that it made it even more exciting for me to teach them. Over these three sessions, I personally have grown to learn something so crucial; underprivileged people are also living breathing people. I have learnt that they need something much much greater than food aid or financial support. They need us to perceive them as a friend and not someone in need. They are people who have never coloured, who have never drawn, who haven’t experienced the joys of activities we have grown up doing.
